Group Conscience
Group conscience is the collective voice of our group, guided by our shared commitment to recovery and the principles of Narcotics Anonymous.
A group conscience is a process by which NA members come together to discuss and make decisions about how their group operates. It reflects the collective wisdom and shared experience of the group, guided by the principles of the Twelve Traditions.
As stated in the Second Tradition: βFor our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority β a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.β
- Group conscience meetings are open to all members of the group
- Decisions are made collectively, not by any single individual
- All members are encouraged to share their thoughts and concerns
- The group strives for unity while respecting individual perspectives
- Decisions follow the spiritual principles of the Twelve Traditions
Group conscience ensures that no single person controls the direction of the group. It keeps the group accountable to its primary purpose β to carry the message to the addict who still suffers. By participating in group conscience, each member plays a vital role in the health and unity of the group.
π Our Group Conscience meetings are held at 1:30 PM on the 4th Sunday of every month.
All group members are encouraged to attend.
