Am I an Addict?
Only you can answer this question

Recognizing and admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery. Consider these questions about your drug use:

  • Do you ever use alone?
  • Have you ever substituted one drug for another, thinking one was the problem?
  • Has your drug use ever made you act in a way that isn't like your true self?
  • Do you use more than intended when you start?
  • Do you plan your life around drug use?
  • Have you ever felt trapped by your drug use?

If you answered yes to some of these questions, you might want to consider attending an NA meeting to learn more.

What to Expect at Your First Meeting

Attending your first NA meeting can be intimidating, but remember that everyone there had a first meeting too. Here's what you can expect:

  • You'll be welcomed — members understand exactly how you feel
  • You can just listen if you prefer — there's no obligation to speak
  • Meetings typically last about an hour
  • Everything shared in meetings is confidential
  • No dues or fees are required to attend
  • Most meetings follow a standard format but may vary slightly
